Mortgage Loan Officer

DeKalb location

Job Description
The Mortgage Loan Officer position is responsible for consulting customers to offer lending solutions that meet their home purchase and refinancing needs as well as forming deep relationships with business partners and grooming referral sources. The Mortgage Loan Officer will also promote American Midwest Bank and its financial services.

Position Responsibilities

  • Consult with customers about their financial situation, financial and personal objectives and lending needs for the purpose of helping them achieve their home ownership goals. This includes collecting and analyzing information about the customer's financial situation, personal objectives, tolerance for risk and change, plans for the future, income, assets, debts, cash flow, and credit history.
  • Analyze financial information for customers to make an initial assessment regarding whether the customer and the property may qualify for a particular lending solution. Make recommendations to customers about which lending solutions would best meet the customers' objectives. Advise customers about the consequences, risks, and benefits of alternative lending solutions.
  • Organize educational, marketing, and promotional events and activities in order to educate the agents as well as customers on American Midwest Bank’s offerings and to promote American Midwest Bank as the provider of lending and other financial solutions. Additionally, participate in business partner's events and office activities.
  • Refer customers who seek financial services other than lending solutions to the appropriate American Midwest Bank professionals.
  • Partner with Operations teams to ensure the seamless transfer of the loan application in order to provide documents to the processors and acquire any additional information needed by the processors and/or underwriters.
  • Work with processors/closers and customers to ensure the timely closing of the customer's loan.

Requirements/Skills

  • Undergraduate degree in Business preferred.
  • Two plus years of proven product sales capability is required (success in a commissioned environment preferred).
  • FHA/VA & conventional loan origination experience is required.
  • Banking experience preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of general lending products and services and pricing alternatives in the industry.
  • The ability to comprehend and explain financial calculations and pricing alternatives.
  • The ability to communicate with customers about the proper documents and information needed to obtain a particular loan.
  • Knowledge of the laws and regulations that govern consumer lending, including fair lending, privacy, and RESPA.
  • Self-starters who can work independently or work with existing partnerships and branches.
  • Proven track record of partnering with real estate agents to jointly fulfill customer home purchase and financing objectives.
  • Strong relationship development and management skills.
  • Deep knowledge of the real estate sales business.
  • Superior customer service skills.

This position requires the employee to register as a mortgage loan originator with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry ("Registry") and obtain a unique identifier from the Registry before engaging in mortgage loan originator activities.

Credit Analyst

Sycamore location

The Credit Analyst supports the lending function through independent and objective analysis of the loan portfolio. Work in conjunction with the lending function to manage overall quality and content of credit files. Assist with management of Special Assets accounts. Two years experience and four year degree required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for underwriting a variety of types and sizes of loans, borrowers, and collateral.
  • Analyze financial information, evaluate risk, and recommend risk ratings.
  • Prepare loan presentations that articulate the nuances of each loan request.
  • Review customer loan relationships for compliance with loan agreements and bank policy.
  • Responsible for ordering real estate appraisals and reviewing appraisals and evaluations for compliance with bank policy.
  • Assist with assigned Special Assets accounts.
  • Assist with management reports.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical, mathematical and problem solving skills.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Broad knowledge of commercial lending, loan structuring and portfolio management preferred.
  • Experience underwriting commercial real estate loans and commercial & industrial loans preferred.

We currently have an excellent opportunity for a part time receptionist at our Schaumburg location. Excellent customer service skills are necessary. The average work week is approximately 20 hours and the work week consists of Thursday, Friday and Saturdays. The responsibilities include:

  • Greeting customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Receive telephone calls and route to the appropriate staff.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding products and services offered by the Bank.
